Shake down

Everyday, a different person.

As the spiders trickle down the walls over the hallowed vessel of my thoughts, the shadows creep over and haunt all the promises and virgin hopes created to be defiled. Why then, do we try? When then, will truth seep through the masks and be met in turn by a kindred ray of light and hope? The cracks individualise the scars of a soul and as they fester throughout this mask, i'm afraid to be left unwhole. Naked to the whims of judgement, fighting for the person i am. But a hopeless fight it is, to fight for a lost cause. For what i am i always will be, but what i think, i'm always not.
Each moment a new face, to each face a new voice. Waltzing round and round the circle of lies, waiting for the light to see through my guise. And awakened then, i would be- as free as the air to simply be. But as the chips fall to the floor, the face lies cloaked and masked no more.
